My mother didn’t want me either
Sweet innocent child, meant nothing to her
Parentless and unloved that was my swinging sixties
The result of good music, cheap beer, too many whiskeys

But don’t be sad for me I was adopted and had a good life
My mother has not, she struggled to be a good mother and wife
Now she faces her last days alone
I still cannot bring myself to condone

What I have to accept is that one fumble in the darkness
As sad as it is, I owe for my entire existence
